Forzieri Gloves

The other day I came across the perfect colored leather gloves online at Forzieri. I’ve never actually heard of this site before until now, but it sounds like the Italian version of Intermix. The gloves I’m in love with are from the in-house brand, Forzieri. The design is simple and classic, and most importantly, it comes in a rainbow of vibrant colors!

It isn’t lined with anything (that would be an extra $20-40 thank you), but they look quite well made (they are made in Italy after all). They’ll be fine for accessorizing when it is positive farenheit- anything below that, you should just put on ski gloves and limit exposure to the outdoors anyway. I still think they are a bit pricey at $87 , but I thought I’d throw it out there for anyone else dying for a pair of colored leather gloves. Personally I’m going to keep my eye out and hope that spring comes early this year (or maybe it’ll go on sale?).

Incidentally, for an investment, I am really considering the black gloves with pink edges (bottom right). They are leather and lined with cashmere i.e. decently warm. The design is simple and elegant. The color is classic and practical, while the pink outline gives it that little pop without coming in the way of your outfit choice. Not bad for $118.

Pretty and Pink

In case you still don’t know what to wear tomorrow (or just want to look at a pretty pink dress), I came across the perfect one this weekend from BCBG. I saw it from a distance and thought, wow that is so pink and pretty! Naturally I just HAD to try it on.

I love the simple design, I love the soft pink color (even though it made me look a bit pallid, I guess pale pink is not my color) and I love the pretty pink girly bow at the back. At first, I thought out of all the dresses on the rack, I’d pick one that was defective. But after examining the rest of the rack, I realized that the bow at the back (right) was deliberately askewed. Initially that didn’t sit well with me, but after staring at the picture for a while I think the crookedness is growing on me. There is just something about imperfection that makes it perfect.

For those of you that don’t have something quite that formal to go to (seriously, who does?), you can still look pretty in pink make-up. I came across this make-up video by Michelle Phan and I am seriously impressed. I always thought pink eye shadow would make me look like someone punched me, but by adding some brown, it looks very pretty on her. I’ve also never been a fan of make-up videos because I can never see the difference, but I can totally see it here. She also has THE most soothing voice ever (she must be Taiwanese or something). I am now tempted to go out and buy a pink Stila palette!

Old habits die hard. Every year for the last four years, I have done a post for HG‘s birthday and I can’t help but do one this year too, even though we’ve moved on. Her birthday was on Thursday, February 5th, but better late then never right? So here goes, my virtual list of gifts to you:

These Chanel earrings and matching necklace we’ve been admiring from the SS09 collection. The camellia and pearl combination never gets old.

I can SEE you in this Vanessa Bruno dress. It looks like the sort of simple, casual but cool dresses you are always telling me about that you love.

To complete the outfit, you can’t go wrong with a simple Chanel bag. And a pair of vibrant purple Miu Miu pumps would be just the thing to add some color to any outfit!

Some nice La Prairie eye serum to help you combat the aging process.
