I tried on this Stretch Flannel Olive top the other day at J Crew, just because the mannequin looked incredibly chic wearing it with a dress shirt underneath. I thought, what an unique take on the office basics of blazers/vests etc!
Unfortunately, I’d forgotten that I was a mere mortal and not a model. I looked like a drab! The dark color and unfitted tailoring made it incredibly unflattering and aging. Combined with a full suit, I imagine it would look incredibly matronly instead of chic. Oh well, I liked the concept behind it though.

oh i know how that feels! j crew has some great concepts.. but it doesn’t always look good on a petite lady like me.

I once read on a website that those collars look like you’re wearing a vulva…and now I can’t bring myself to wear those…

I know!
But the way they often put sweaters on manequins is that they use safety pins to make it more flattering on the figure – so perhaps try a pin or two in hidden places? if you really like the look of course.
